Guests arrived to a beautifully decorated Le Jardin Banquet Room and enjoyed cocktails while bidding on silent auction items. After a warm welcome by our emcee, Bill Dorn, all were pleasantly surprised by our “unannounced” guests, Lisa and Oliver Douglas from the 1960’s sitcom, “Green Acres.” A few silent auction items were previewed by a third “drop-in” guest, Mr. Haney, also from the show. While enjoying a scrumptious meal, everyone was inspired by presentations on the profound impact that the Wakiso Hope Project is making on the lives of underprivileged children in Uganda. After dinner, DuPage Band performed for our listening and dancing pleasure. The evening wrapped up with a “Call for Compassion” which moved us close to our goal of raising $28,000 to purchase land for a farm. Thanks to everyone who believes in the important work of the Wakiso Hope Project.
